Here we go again!
I'm Callum Morrison, a robotics/design engineer from Oxford, and in the summer of 2024, I'm embarking on the greatest motoring adventure on the planet * - The Mongol Rally, alongside my good mate, Alberto Guerra Martinuzzi.
* second only to the M25 at rush hour.
This entails driving our (t)rusty 1.2 litre lunchbox from Oxford, UK all the way to east Kazakhstan; home of the majestic Borohoro Mountains, water-skiing squirrels of the Irtysh River, and the bustling city of Oskemen, which Wikipedia introduces as 'the leader in Kazakhstan by the number of people having respiratory problems and the diseases of immune system'.
The Mongol Rally has been an annual event since 2004, raising money for charity ever since it's first rally with only six teams. Since then, it has grown to around 300 teams every year.
The rally has had a rough few years, with COVID outright cancelling the rally for 2020 and 2021, and the recent rallies being affected by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. But this year it's back in (almost) full force, and we're ready to take on the challenge.
