Fundraising for The Trussell Trust
Story
We are delighted to confirm that for a sixth year, we will once again be doing a Reverse Advent initiative, as a way of giving back to those less fortunate and in support of The Trussell Trust network of foodbanks.
Close to 3 million emergency food parcels were distributed by food banks in the Trussell Trust network in the past 12 months — the most parcels ever distributed by the network in a year.
Between 1 April 2022 and 31 March 2023, food banks in the Trussell Trust’s UK wide network distributed close to 3 million emergency food parcels to people facing hardship – this is an increase of 37% from the same period last year. More than one million of these parcels were distributed for children.
As it has worked successfully in recent years, we have two options again this year: we’ll be asking everyone to make collections of non-perishable food at home and arrange to drop these off at a local drop-off point, or to consider making a financial donation.
