Story
Our friend Fergus is 17 and was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer back in February. Since March, Fergus has undergone two rounds of intense chemotherapy and has just had an operation to remove the tumour. This involved the removal of part of his femur and the installation of a replacement knee joint. He has just started four additional rounds of chemotherapy with the full knowledge of the gruelling side effects that he has already faced.
Myself, George Pardoe and Archie Walwyn are walking from Geneva to Rome in September which is roughly 1,100 kilometres (684 miles), slightly depends on how many wrong turns we take.
The two of us went to Sherborne Boys and then both rolled into Oxford Brookes University. After nine long, tiring years knowing one another what better than spend two months walking the Via Francigena Pilgrimage Route from Geneva to Rome!
Knowing Fergus and his family, it was clear that the Teenage Cancer Trust (www.teenagecancertrust.org) which provides specialist care and support to young people living with Cancer aged between 13-24, has done a lot and means a great deal to them all.
Therefore, via JustGiving all donations received will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust once us two lads make it to Rome!
