Story
Hey,
Thanks for taking the time to click on my just giving page.
Just some background on why i have created this fundraising link and why my chosen charity to fundraise for is @ANDYSMANCLUB.
I have chose to fundraise for @ANDYSMANCLUB as this charity is a mens mental health/suicide charity that covers most of the UK and parts of wales.
This charity is very close to my heart.
On July 22nd 2025 my dad took his own life at the young age of 46, After battling mental health for over 20years. Like most men he never spoke about his struggles, although his were very clear for people to see. His ego was far to big to accept help, and when we did get him help he was to clever and the health care professinals deemed him fit.
So i have chosen @ANDYSMANCLUB to spread more awareness on this subject. The stigma behind mens mental health is huge, I feel it needs to be spoken about more, for men to know its ok to reach out, speak out and accept help.
As many of you may or may (not) know i have spent my entire adult life overweight (Happy) but none the less overweight, at the end of 2024 i decided to make a change to be healthier and i am now at an 11 stone loss.
I wanted to continue to challenge myself in the new year and thought what better way to do that then to commit to the plymouth half marathon, i know, im crazy!
I have never ran before in my life not even a 5k. So this is a huge personal challenge for me, i mean go big or go home right?
Whilst i did my first run on the 3rd of janruary 2026 i said in my head you can't run a half marathon... what are you even thinking! 😱
So i knew if i do this run for a charity and commit to them i will NOT let that charity down so i will HAVE to push through the negativty in my head and do it.
And i couldnt think of a more better and personal charity then the @ANDYSMANCLUB.
So here i am, doing it 💪
