Story
Over a wee cup of tea, Billy Skinner and David Gallie conceived an idea to make a difference this summer. They decided to create a challenge that would not only test their endurance but also raise funds for a lesser-known charity and very worthy cause.
Thus, the Park Run Ultra was born.
The challenge is to attempt to complete 12 Park Runs around Torvean Park in just 12 hours. This means running a total of 60 kilometres, pushing their limits both physically and mentally. Their motivation goes beyond personal achievement; they are driven by a desire to support DEBRA (Scotland), also known as The Butterfly Skin Charity.
The Challenge
Join Billy and David in their endeavour by supporting their Park Run Ultra Challenge. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by epidermolysis bullosa. Together, we can help DEBRA UK continue their mission and bring hope to those who need it most.
If you’re up for a challenge, we’d love to see you join us at Torvean on the 20th September. But don’t worry - you don’t need to do all 12! Whether you run one, walk two, or go the full distance, every step will support DEBRA UK
This is not a race, no registrations; no prizes; no t-shirts, just sweat & satisfaction….and maybe a bit of cake.
Each run/walk kicks off at 30 minutes past the hour, starting with our regular Torvean Parkrun at 9:30 AM.
Charity

DEBRA is a dedicated organization that provides support to individuals and families affected by epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare and painful genetic skin condition. Often referred to as "butterfly skin," EB causes the skin to become extremely fragile, leading to blisters and wounds from the slightest touch. The funds raised through the Park Run Ultra will help DEBRA continue their vital work in offering care, support, and hope to those living with this challenging condition.
