Story
Cricket has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Whether it was playing in the corridor upstairs as a kid or in the nets at Lord's, the gentleman's game has always been my passion.
When given the opportunity to fundraise for Chance to Shine, a charity that helps give children access to cricket - especially those who might never otherwise get the opportunity - I couldn’t say no. Learning about the charity's work made me reflect on how fortunate I have been: playing for my local club and school every year without fail, and always having access to the kit and support I needed to fully enjoy the sport.
Now, it's my turn to give back. Fundraising for this amazing cause is my way of helping the next generation experience the mental, physical and social benefits that come from playing sports. Even if you prefer football or tennis and can't comprehend why we enjoy standing in the sun for 8 hours, I'm sure you'll know what it feels like to be playing the sport you love with your friends.
Running the London Marathon has been on my bucket list for multiple years, and I know you incredible people will be with me till the very end. So, on that note, if you are able to contribute towards my £2500 fundraising target, you'll be helping transform the lives of thousands of young children.
Thank you and lots of love 💙
