Story
I'm Patrick Berton (above), helping Medical Life Lines Ukraine.
Putin's brutal forces continue to kill, maim and torture the military, innocent civilians, young and old alike. I'm raising funds to purchase and recondition a British Ambulance, fill it with vital aid (vital trauma supplies, surgical equipment, medications) and deliver it to Ukraine in September.
I've made the first donation and am funding accommodation, food and fuel on the journey. Thus, 100% of what you donate could literally be saving lives within a day or two of our arrival.
To support our cause, please give what you can by clicking the Give Now button on this page. Please also share this page with anyone you think might wish to help us. Please note 1) UK taxpayers are eligible for Gift Aid. 2) Higher and additional rate taxpayers can ALSO claim personal tax relief on charitable donations made through Gift Aid.
Medical Life Lines Ukraine
Medical Life Lines Ukraine has delivered 130 aid-filled ambulances and emergency services vehicles to Ukraine since Russia's full-blown invasion. Destinations include Kyiv City Hospital, Mykhailovsky Hospital, Boryspil Neonatal Centre, Okhmadyt Children’s Perinatal, Medical Plaza centre in Dnipro and Odessa emergencies services. This work has saved countless lives and shown the people of Ukraine that so many in the outside world are aware of their plight and are keen to help.
Partnerships in Ukraine
Medical Life Lines Ukraine works with partners including Ukraine's Ministry of Health and State Emergency Service to identify hospitals, emergency teams, NGOs and others for which vehicles, equipment and aid will make a real difference. They source, check and buy the right vehicles and equipment, recondition and deliver them to where they are needed most. The charity is supported by British-Ukrainian Aid.
What's involved in an ambulance convoy
It costs some £20,000 to buy, recondition and deliver an ambulance to Ukraine and this money is raised by volunteer fundraiser-drivers. Drivers travel in pairs and in convoy from London to Ukraine, with an itinerary organised by Medical Life Lines Ukraine. Each driver raises or contributes £7,000 towards the cost.
Thank you for visiting our page and supporting our mission. We are hugely grateful to you for your generosity in continuing to help to save lives and send a significant message of support to the people of Ukraine who are suffering so greatly as a result of Russia's aggression.
Best regards,
Patrick
