I strongly support our public libraries, and the Evanston Public Library is a great example of the good work that the public library does in our community. Their program, ABC Boosters, gets 60 pre-k students ready for kindergarten in the fall. Kindergarten success is a proven step on the road to lifelong academic success.

Due to school district budget cuts, this year EPL needs our help to support ABC Boosters. This program employs local high school students to assist in teaching these pre-K students the skills they will need to flourish and succeed as they enter kindergarten this fall. The experience for both these high school students and their pre-k students is invaluable for all.

This is a time of need for many in our communities. I would ask you to consider a donation to the ABC Boosters in any amount as a direct way to assist young children as they embark on their academic years as well as providing excellent experience to the high school students who will aid in their instruction.
