Story
My brother Peter, our friend Roku and I will be running/walking the Pathfinder March on June 6th. It's a 46 mile route through the Cambridgeshire countryside.
We're fundraising for Beat – the UK’s leading eating disorder charity. This is a cause that hits very close to home for me, as I seriously struggled with an eating disorder between the age of 13 - 20. It's affected family, friends and people I've met throughout my life and it's something I wouldn't want to see anyone go through alone.
Eating disorders are complex mental illnesses that can affect anyone. Right now, at least 1.25 million (1 in 50) people in the UK have an eating disorder – with millions of loved ones also affected. But there is hope. With better understanding, faster diagnosis and proper treatment, recovery is possible. Beat offer people emotional support and expert advice, and work to change policies, perceptions, and lives. Together, we’ll end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders 💜
