Story
In May 2021 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma and put under the immediate care of the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool, where I continue to be treated with the utmost respect and empathy. After a year of immunotherapy I was moved onto pioneering BRAF Targeted Therapy - an incredible new treatment pathway. It is the stuff of science fiction - but is now a reality thanks to amazing research, including that carried out at Clatterbridge. It really has changed the outlook for metastatic melanoma patients and, to be blunt, is the reason I’m still here after nearly 5 years!
And not only here but, thanks to the wonderful and continuing care I receive at Clatterbridge, I have been well enough to have two hip replacements, one very recently!
To celebrate the bionic me and to do something positive to express my gratitude I want to support the research which Clatterbridge carries out - it’s life saving and is transforming cancer treatment for generations to come.
So, I have signed up for Clatterbridge’s Glow Green Night Walk through the streets of Liverpool on Friday 6th February. It’s my first sponsored event since I was at school!!
I will be joined on the night by my wonderful friend Judy Woolvine who is walking in memory of both her sister and several close friends. We will be doing this together as a team!
We would be so grateful if you would consider supporting us by making a donation to the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity to raise money for life-saving research - I am the proof!
Thank you from us both,
Trish and Judy xx
