Yorkshire Marathon 2024 · 20 October 2024 ·

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

Rob Smith will be running the Yorkshire Marathon on Sunday 20th October to raise money for Refuge.

One woman in four will experience domestic abuse at some point in her lifetime and on average one woman is killed every 5 days in England and Wales by a current or former partner.

Since 1971, Refuge has led the campaign against domestic abuse. It is the country’s largest single provider of specialist domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse support services.  They provide support to thousands of survivors, helping them to overcome the physical, emotional, financial and logistical impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives — free from fear. It also runs the freephone, 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline that provides the first step to women & children fleeing domestic abuse.

Rob and NAHT Women's Network are proud to support Refuge and raise much needed funds for the essential services that they provide.

By kindly sponsoring Rob today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and their children. Thank you
