Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will be aware I turned 70 in January this year! Scary or what. So, rather than throw the traditional party, I decided to throw myself 3 cycling challenges as follows:

ETAPE Loch Ness (66 Miles rounds Loch Ness and completed 23 April in just under 4 hours coming in 892 out of nearly 4500 cyclists . Not bad for the old man!!

Bealach. 6th May 2023 Beachlach climb on the west coast of Scotland. In the top five most demanding cycle climbs in the UK covering 44 miles in total (mostly, I'm told, uphill ) The challenge here is not time but finishing.

Lands End to John O’ Groats . Starts 14 May. Now this is the tough one - approx 1,000 miles over 14 consecutive days. (As I type I am beginning to wonder what the ……!)

So these are the challenges and you may ask why on earth am I doing this? Quite simply to help a charity who help young people with special needs (SNAP- special needs action programme). As someone who had the privilege of being a step- dad to Michael, a young person with special needs, I have little insight into the challenges many of these young people face- -tougher , harder, and on occasion more physically demanding than riding a few miles on a bike. So please, donate what you can, it is so appreciated.
