STILL TIME TO DONATE: I successfully ran the Brighton Marathon to raise funds for farmers in Gumbi, Malawi to irrigate their land for better yields.
Message from James Gomani, Gumbi lead in Malawi: "As we shared your marathon updates with the locals and Mr. Edwin, the headman of Gumbi village, everyone was emotional by the realization that solar pumps represent a once-in-a-lifetime chance for our community as we work to end food poverty. Thousands of local farmers will be able to harvest twice a year, which is a practical solution that will alleviate severe food shortages. You have accomplished so much with your marathon, and you have given more hope to our farmers."
Gumbi is the Alton Climate Action Network Environmental Justice sustainable farming project. This provides training and irrigation for many villages in Malawi to prevent future hunger.
