Story
In early 2020, we lost our amazing Emma suddenly and unexpectedly to sepsis. She was only 39 at the time, with 2 young sons. Emma was one of the most selfless and intelligent people around. Always on the side of the marginalised, she was keen on promoting equality and social justice and was very proud to go out and put that into practice throughout the community. She was also great fun to be around! She is deeply missed by all who knew her.
On Friday 22nd August five of us will be zip-lining 100ft in the air over the River Clyde to raise money for Sepsis Research, to support the critical research they are pursuing to better understand this horrible disease.
Sepsis Research FEAT is a registered charity (SC049399) and are the UK’s only sepsis research charity.
Sepsis accounts for around 50,000 deaths in the UK every year.
We don't understand enough about sepsis and the biological processes that can lead to serious illness or even death. That is why we urgently need to increase funding:
- to raise awareness of sepsis
- for research: to understand the processes that lead to sepsis, to design effective treatments for it & to help save lives.
We are very grateful for any donations received.
