Story

UPDATE - 5th May - current weight lost 13lbs (5.9kg)

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am carrying out a sponsored slim in memory of Lauren Jackson, a 17 year-old waitress at my pub, the Winchester Arms in Trull. Lauren sadly died in February whilst at Huish College. Lauren was a great member of staff, loved by all colleagues and our customers alike. In honour of her memory I am undertaking a sponsored slim to raise money for Mind in Somerset, one of her chosen charities (the other was the Cats Protection League).

We all really miss Lauren, a beautiful young lady with an infectious personality. She was extremely hard working and superb at her job, she had a great sense of humour and made everyone laugh. Life in the Winch is certainly not the same since she has gone to Heaven. This is a small way in which I can help keep the memory of her living on.

START DATE: Monday 6th April 2026 (Easter Monday)

(This was my 10th Anniversary as Landlord of the Winchester Arms)

START WEIGHT: 20st 13lbs (132.9kg)

LATEST WEIGH-IN: 20st (127kg)

(5th May - lost 13lbs 5.9kg)

END DATE: Sunday 2nd August 2026 (My Birthday)

(Last day of the Winch Beer, Cider & Music Festival)

TARGET WEIGHT: 16st 7lbs (105kg)

(Likely to be a tad ambitious - but it is worth aiming high, Lauren would approve!!)

The start and finish dates have specifically been chosen to ensure that we can give maximum publicity to the Sponsored Slim and therefore maximise donations in Lauren's memory.
