Story
Over €5000 raised. Thank you to everyone who donated, I wholeheartedly appreciate you supporting me and the charity with your hard earned money in these times especially.
In February 2026, I’ll be taking on the challenge of climbing to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, partly due to my midlife crisis, but mainly to raise funds for The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
This cause is personal to me—I’ve chosen it in honour of my mum and to everyone affected by this horrible disease, including families and fantastic carers who give so much.
Following on from raising over £2,500 in 2023 by completing the Chester and Dublin Marathons, I’d love to add to that. My trip is completely self-funded, so every penny you donate will go directly to this fantastic charity and the vital work they do.
I know it’s not a great time of year to fundraise but if you can, any donation would be gratefully received.
*My original target was £500 but due to your generous donations, I increased it to an ambitious £1000, then £1500 and now £2000. It shows the deep impact this disease has on so many. Thank you.*
Your generosity will help provide care, research, and hope for those living with Alzheimer’s.
