Story
This is a cause that means a lot to me personally. My paternal grandfather developed Alzheimer’s, and I saw how deeply dementia can affect not only the person living with it, but also the family around them. My dad, as an architect and artist, has also been actively involved with Arts for Dementia, so I have seen the value of the creative and inspirational workshops that the charity organises to help transform the lives of people living with early-stage dementia.
Running a half marathon is outside my comfort zone, but that feels like the point. I wanted to take on a challenge that would push me, while also raising money for a charity whose work I believe in.
Any donation, no matter the size, would mean a huge amount. Your support will help make a real difference to people affected by dementia, and will give me some much needed motivation to keep going when the kilometres start to feel particularly long.
Please support my campaign and help me raise £500 for this amazing charity.
