Memorial Football Match · 27 June 2025

Rosemere Cancer Foundation strives to bring world-class care to cancer patients across Lancashire and South Cumbria, by funding cutting-edge equipment, clinical research, staff training, and innovative services and initiatives to make their cancer journey more effective, comfortable and stress-free.

Story

We are raising money to celebrate and honour the life and legacy of our beloved friend and coworker Patrick McCready.

Whilst working at St. Peter’s as our site supervisor, Patrick undertook the role of Girls Football Coach due to his experience and passion for the sport.

Every week, he would take to the field to coach the girls, and take them to their matches with other local primary schools.

However, his love for the game was not just saved for his beloved U11s team. It was a mainstay of our school. From chanting songs with the children on the playground to talking to pupils about the weekend’s results, Patrick’s love for football was clear and he shared it with all.

As such, in his memory, we will be raising funds for Rosemere Cancer Charity. This will take place through various means but will culminate on the 27th June, when we will be hosting a football match in his name.

This will allow our school community to celebrate his life, his passion and the impact he had on so many of our pupils.

All funds raised will go to Rosemere Cancer Charity, a cause close to Patrick’s family, supporting vital cancer care and services in our local community.

Please donate what you can and help us make a difference in Patrick’s name.
