Many of you are aware of Lia's Wings, the charity named after my beautiful daughter, Lia, who tragically passed away in September 2022.

Lia’s Wings is the only aeroplane ambulance charity for children in the UK, and because of Lia, we are helping more children and families than ever before. My hope is that with your support, we can do even more!

Last year, a group of nearly 30 cyclists (including myself) took on the charity's first-ever overseas cycling challenge: a grueling, waterlogged cycle from London to Paris.

This year, we wanted to push ourselves even harder, and will be embarking on another epic cycle ride, in a place that means so much to my family.

Praia da Falesia, in Portugal's Algarve region, is a place that is very special to me and my family. Lia was always happiest by the sea, and she practically grew up on the beach there. We shared some of our happiest days in Praia de Falesia, surrounded by friends and family, and those summers gave us memories that we will carry in our hearts forever.

To honour Lia’s memory and raise further funds to continue building her legacy, 29 other incredible cyclists and I will be tackling another 200-mile cycle ride this September, starting just south of Lisbon, and finishing literally on Praia da Falesia -- Lia’s favourite place in the world.

Collectively, our team will cover circa 6,000 miles, not including the countless training miles we put in beforehand. Every mile and every hill concquered is dedicated to Lia and to the countless children that will need the care and support that Lia's Wings provides.

I've seen firsthand the difference the charity makes during the hardest moments a family can face, and I want more families to have that support when they need it the most. Since rebranding to Lia's Wings, my darling daughter has sponsored 112 life-changing and often life-saving journeys so far, ensuring children across the globe can access vital treatment and healthcare, no matter their circumstances. Lia's light and energy has already transformed so many lives, and with your help, we can continue to do so much more in her name.

For 2025, we renamed Lia's Wings' annual cycle as the “Ride for Lia”. This year, we will carry her love for life all the way back to her beach, turning her love into something that can help so many others. We hope to do the same for many years to come...all around the world!

Please consider supporting me and my fellow riders for our 2025 Ride for Lia. Our aim this year is to raise £100,000, which will allow us to fund at least 10 life-changing transfers for babies and children in urgent need. Lia's Wings are the only hope for those families, and without the charity's support, there simply isn't a "plan B" for them.
