Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Aspire fundraising page.
As many of you know, I swam the English Channel in October 2023, fulfilling a 10-year dream. The exhilaration and sense of accomplishment I felt after that swim inspired me to continue pushing my limits in open water swimming. But as I embark on this new challenge, I can't help but think about those who aren't able to pursue their dreams due to spinal cord injuries.
That's why I've chosen to support Aspire, a charity closely connected to open water swimming. Aspire provides practical help and support to people who have been paralyzed by spinal cord injuries, helping them regain their independence both mentally and physically.
My goal is to raise £1,100 for Aspire, but I'm hoping we can surpass that and surprise them with an even higher number! Whether you donate as an individual, a company, or anonymously, any amount is welcome. Together, we can make a difference! As we say in Sweden
Många bäckar små, gör en å!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, 100% of your donation will go directly to Aspire!
As a donor, you'll also have the option to join our WhatsApp group on the day of the swim. My crew will live stream when possible and provide regular updates during the swim. It would be wonderful to have you onboard! Just send me your number and you'll be added to the group a few weeks before the big day. (patrik.eveborn@gmail.com)
The Sealand to UK Swim!
The Principality of Sealand is an old sea fort situated in international waters that declared its independence and became a micro-nation in 1967.
In addition to its fascinating history as a pirate radio broadcasting site in the '60s and an attempted host for The Piratebay's file sharing servers in 2007 (which was rejected by Sealand government), Sealand offers a challenging route for swimmers.
The swim will take me through the Felixstowe deep water Channel, which regularly sees some of the largest container ships in the world pass through its waters. Covering approximately 12km (depending on currents), this swim demands utmost respect due to the challenging conditions of the Northern Sea.
Join me on this incredible journey as we raise funds for Aspire and make a positive impact on those affected by spinal cord injuries!
