Story
On April 12th, I will be running the Paris Marathon to raise money for CCLG (The Children & Young People’s Cancer Association) in honour of my incredible niece, Emilia Grace.
When Emilia was just two years old, she was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) — a rare condition where the body produces too many Langerhans cells, which can cause damage to organs, bones, and tissues. It primarily affects children and often requires long-term treatment and monitoring.
Over the following two years, Emilia showed extraordinary bravery through countless hospital visits, treatments, and moments that demanded strength far beyond her years. In March 2025, she was finally given the all clear — a moment filled with relief, gratitude, and hope for the future.
Throughout Emilia’s journey, CCLG has played a vital role in supporting children like her. CCLG is the UK’s leading childhood cancer charity, bringing together experts to fund life-saving research, improve treatments, and ensure children receive the best possible care — not just to survive, but to live well beyond cancer. Their work also supports families during the most challenging times and helps create better outcomes for future generations.
Emilia’s courage and resilience have inspired me to challenge myself in a way I never have before. This run is for her — to honour everything she has overcome, to celebrate her strength, and to give back to a charity that makes such a real difference to so many families.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps CCLG continue their incredible work. Thank you for supporting this cause and for helping me run for Emilia. 💛
