Important update 10th May -

The Para’s 10 Colchester event has been cancelled due to the Para’s being away on operational duties and therefore unable to marshall the event. The good news is that in its place there is an official virtual event being run by the Para’s charity. I will run my own 10 mile TAB and then submit my Strava and GPS data to the Para’s event staff to be verified. As before it will be done on 27th May, 10 miles carrying a 16kg bergen, plus 1kg of water, in boots, on cross country and footpaths.

On 27th May 2023, I will be taking part in the Para’s 10 TAB at Colchester training area. This is to raise money for the Mara Unit at County Durham and Darlington NHS Charity. The Mara Unit are treating Spike for his ongoing battle with bowel cancer and have been outstanding in doing so. I know Spike from my service on 58 Sqn Raf Regiment many years ago and he is an absolutely outstanding bloke and a great professional Gunner.

The PARA’S 10 is a 10 mile endurance race based on the 10 miler from The Parachute Regiment's P Company test week. I will be doing it across Colchester training area with a 35lb bergen, boots and trousers and across a river or two plus a stinky old bog.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated as the staff and services provided by the Mara Unit have been absolutely fantastic to Spike, his wife Paula and sons Kyle and Ben.
