My Story

On 11th October 2026, I will be stepping out, starting at the Temple Newsam Estate to take part in the Alzheimer’s Society Leeds Memory Walk - a 6k walk for a cause that is deeply personal to me.

I am taking on this challenge in loving memory of my dad, whom I lost five years ago following a rapid onset of cognitive decline. Losing him was heartbreaking, but his memory lives on in so many ways. Every year on the anniversary of his passing, I head out fishing - a skill he taught me, a passion he gave me, and a time when I feel closest to him and the many great memories we shared over the years.

As part of the mobile team at 4 Site Security, I spend a lot of my days patrolling Leeds and Bradford with my work, so I’m more than ready to put those miles to good use for a fantastic cause!

Why I’m Fundraising

Dementia doesn't just affect the individual living with it, it turns whole families' lives upside down and impacts every single aspect of daily life.

I’m walking to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society, but also to help raise awareness around the profound impact of this condition… as the Alzheimer’s Society says, ‘it takes a whole society to understand, support, and ultimately beat dementia’.
