In memory of Simon Brennan

Memorial Ride for Simon Brennan · 21 June 2025

We are My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and we're absolutely committed to our goal: A World Free of MND. We will leave no stone unturned in the relentless pursuit of this goal as we fund, guide and enable the smartest, most efficient MND research to catalyse a cure for motor neuron disease.

Story

On June 21st 2025 we will ride our bikes 80km through some of the most stunning Northern Californian back country to continue to raise funds to support the Doddie Weir Foundation - Simon's choice of charity that raises funds for research to find a cure for ALS, also known as Motor Neuron Disease.

The ride coincides with my brother Simon's birthday( 21st June) and honors his passing on April 26, 2020, of this horrendous and debilitating disease

In May 2019, my brother Simon was diagnosed with ALS (Motor Neuron Disease / MND as it’s called in the UK). He was told he had about a year to live. Simon immediately set about helping fellow MND sufferers live their days with dignity. Simon organized the Land’s End to Londo ride from June 21st to 29th, raising $174,000 for MyName5Doddie foundation, his chosen MND charity. In October, Simon organized the Big Boom Challenge in London, where they raised another $81K.

Simon’s efforts have contributed over GBP 300K ( $407,000) to MND research and awareness.

Please inspire and cheer me and my friends on as we ride here in Northern California, with a donation of any size.

Thanks for your support

Paul
