Story

Brian House is a vital community asset, who are local and so every baby and child, they offer support to, who has a life limiting illness, are all local to Blackpool and Fylde areas. Meaning every donation really does go straight back to our own local people.

I am always amazed at the generosity of people from Blackpool, and the wider football community, when someone, or a group of people raise funds for local charities and services. EVERY penny really is vital, especially for a service as unique and needed as Brian house. The government funding for Brian house only makes up a very small portion of its annual total running costs - unbelievable, hey?

For the above reasons it is vital that fundraising continues and is conducted on a regular basis, so this fantastic community asset can continue to improve the short time these very poorly local babies and children have left.

Why did I want to raise funds? Well as a Blackpool born person, I know that there are a lot of areas where local people really are needed to offer support, raise awareness and of course, raise funds. I wanted to raise money for a charity who help babies and children, and supports parents and families of those babies and children.

I am a father, a Blackpool lad, although currently exiled, and a Blackpool FC fan.

The 20th April 2024 marks the day my own son, Paul sadly passed away aged 13 months. Which is why I chose to commemorate Paul with a 1 minute applause on the 13th minute of the home match V Barnsley FC on this day. Whilst I was trying to tell people about this, I felt it would be a fantastic opportunity to also raise vital funds and awareness for a local charity. This is where the idea came from, so I thank everyone who feels able to help, by either donating whatever they can, by sharing this page or by both.

There will also be a charity event in the Armfield Club following the match at Blackpool FC V Barnsley FC, there will be music and a raffle and auction with some really great prizes on offer, which have been kindly donated to the cause.
