On 12th May 2024 Gemma and I will be taking part in the Leeds Half Marathon to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). We will be running in memory of three of my family members who sadly passed away from this terrible disease, my mother in law (Jean), her twin sister (Josie) and our cousin (Karen). To lose three loved ones in this way has been absolutely devastating for the family. MND is such a cruel disease for which there is no cure. The individual is left with a sound mind and fully aware of what is happening to them but they are trapped in a body that is unable to do anything. It takes away all dignity and hope.

I have never taken part in a running event such as this before but I wanted to do my bit for MND. I have a great trainer in Gemma who is determined to get me over that finish line, as am I!
