Story
I’m taking on the 100km Challenge to raise vital funds for Dove House Hospice!
Dove House Hospice cared for my partner Hannah during her final days, and I saw first hand the wonderful work they do to make life as comfortable and enjoyable as they can for those with life-limiting conditions, in an atmosphere that is friendly and informal, with much more time for individuals than can be accommodated in a hospital. They provide not just specialist medical care for those with progressive life-limiting illnesses, but also a lifeline of support for their families and friends. They help to add life to days when days can no longer be added to life.
A large proportion of their funding comes from charitable donations, so I want to raise money for them by participating in the 100km September Challenge. I will be walking 100km (62 miles) throughout September, which roughly works out at a 6 mile walk every 3 days. (I don't have a steps counter, so I will only be counting proper walks with measured distances, not just going down to the shops!)
So, I need your help to keep me going, please! Every donation, big or small, makes a huge difference. Please help me support this amazing local charity by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button.
Spreading the word is just as important, so please also share my page with your friends and family. Thank you so much for your generosity – it means a great deal to me!
