Most of you know just how much this charity means to me and the incredible help and ongoing support it gives to my sister, Nicola. It truly makes a difference to her life, and to ours as a family.

So (perhaps slightly foolishly!) I’ve decided to set myself a challenge…

I’m going to walk from St James’ Park (home of Newcastle United), to the Stadium of Light (home of Sunderland AFC), and then all the way to the Riverside Stadium (home of the mighty Boro!).

That’s a gruelling 42 miles in one day - stadium to stadium - and definitely no small task when you’re unfit and middle-aged like me 🙈

After all that, I’ll be finishing the night at the Riverside to watch Boro (hopefully!) smash Sheffield Wednesday which I’m sure I’ll have earned by then!

This is all for an incredibly special charity that continues to support Nicola and so many others. Every single donation, no matter how big or small, will go a long way and would mean the world to me.

Founded in memory of Russ Devereux, the Headlight Project aims to reduce the number of deaths by suicide in the Tees Valley, which has one of the highest regional rates in the country. We aim to achieve this by providing therapy to those bereaved by suicide, and delivering preventative education and training to schools, local businesses and the community.
