The Rangers Charity Foundation helps to make the world of difference to thousands of lives. We are currently supporting our local hospital, Glasgow City Mission, Simon Community, The Carers Trust and various armed services-related charities, as well as delivering our own community work.

Story

The Captain Kirky Marathon is a charity run, walk, or cycle from Ibrox Stadium to Kilwinning Sports Club.

The event was originally created in memory of Craig Kirkwood by his dad Colin, mum Alison, brother David, and sister Sarah. It became a special annual occasion that brought Craig’s friends and family together to celebrate his life while raising money for charity. From 2011 to 2017, Colin proudly organised the event each year, making it a meaningful tradition for everyone involved.

Sadly, Colin passed away in 2017 after a battle with cancer. This year would have been Colin’s 60th birthday, and to mark this special milestone Alison, David, and Sarah have decided to bring the Captain Kirky Marathon back.

The event will once again bring people together to run, walk, or cycle the route from Ibrox Stadium to Kilwinning Sports Club – celebrating both Craig’s memory and Colin’s life. We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces, sharing stories, and remembering the wonderful times we had with them both through an event that Colin was so passionate about.

Any support, donations, or participation means a great deal and helps keep their memory and spirit alive.
