Story
Thank you for visiting my AJ Bell Great North Run 2026 fundraising page. I am taking on this amazing challenge for the National Autistic Society, the UK's largest autism charity supporting the 700,000 people and their families across the country.
The hugely popular half marathon starts in Newcastle city centre, over the iconic Tyne Bridge, with the swooping Red Arrows overhead and onwards to finish with the sea views in South Shields.
I’m taking on the Great North Run for Autism UK in support of a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart. My eldest son, Josh, has lived with autism for almost 30 years, and I’ve seen first-hand the challenges and strengths that come with it.
At 52, overweight, and riddled with arthritis, this will be the first half marathon I’ve ever attempted — so it’s a huge personal challenge as well as a physical one. Every donation will not only support Autism UK but also give me the motivation I need to get race-fit, keep training, and make it to the start line (and hopefully the finish!).
Thank you for any support you can give — it truly means more than you know.
Please donate what you can and please share my page if you can. Thank you!
