Born Survivor

Paul Furlong is raising money for Liverpool Women's Hospital Charity

Born Survivor · 12 September 2026 ·

Born Survivor is a mud-drenched, soul-shaking, team-driven experience where every crawl, climb and carry reveals what you’re truly made of.

Story

This year, I’m taking on the Born Survivor 12k Military Obstacle Course – 12km of mud, obstacles and challenges – to raise money for Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity.

This has become a very personal cause for me. My mum is currently receiving care at Liverpool Women’s Hospital for terminal ovarian cancer. As a family, we’re incredibly grateful for the specialist treatment and support she is receiving there.

Liverpool Women’s Hospital provides vital care not just for patients like my mum, but for thousands of women, babies and families every year. From high-risk pregnancies and neonatal care for premature babies to complex gynaecological and cancer treatment, the hospital delivers world-class, specialist services at some of life’s most critical moments.

The Born Survivor course will be physically demanding – crawling through mud, climbing obstacles and pushing myself over 12km – but it’s a small challenge compared to what many patients and families are facing every day. I’m taking it on to support the work of the hospital and help ensure that other families continue to receive the same level of care and expertise.

Any support you can give would be hugely appreciated.
