Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page in support of Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS).
At 04h30 on Easter Saturday, my mate and I will depart Devizes in Wiltshire in a 2-man kayak, aiming to paddle all day Saturday, right through Saturday night until we reach Westminster some time around mid-morning on Sunday, around 30 hours later.
Between the start and finish are 125 miles of canal and river, and we will need to carry the boat around a total of 77 locks. The Devizes-Westminster is the longest single-stage kayak race in the world.
KSS is an independent charity. It costs over £16.6M a year to sustain their world-leading, cutting edge, innovative service and amazingly 87% is donated and raised by the people of Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
I'm hoping that in participating in his fundamentally stupid exercise, I'll get 10 people to sponsor £10 each towards this great cause. Hopefully we won't need the air ambulance during the race... :-)
