A Wee Walk

Paul Harvey is raising money for Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team

Walking from Cardiff to Scotland to see my grandchildren · 8 July 2025

We are a voluntary Search and Rescue service covering the Central Brecon Beacons and the South and Mid Wales area. A 999 24/7 service operating in all weather conditions to assist those injured/lost in mountain/rural/urban environments. We rely on donations for the £60,000 yearly running costs.

Story

The Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team is a beacon of hope, surviving entirely on the generosity of charitable donations.

This dedicated team provides a vital 24/7 rescue service, ready to assist those in distress in the great outdoors, every single day of the year.

Having been part of this incredible team for the past nine years, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact we make. Whether it’s helping someone with an ankle injury during a gentle countryside ramble, responding to a high-speed mountain biking incident, or offering support to those who find solace in nature during challenging times, CBMRT is always there to lend a hand.

As I prepare for my personal trek from Cardiff to Scotland on July 8th, 2025, I am reminded of the importance of this mission. This journey is not just about reaching my grandchildren; it’s also a chance for me to reflect and embrace mindfulness after facing health and fitness challenges over the last year.

I invite you to join me in supporting the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team by contributing towards my fundraising goal of £1,000. Your generous donations will ensure that this essential service continues to thrive and be there for those who need it most.
