Story

Run for Emma Harrison

In April, Hilbre High School sadly lost our wonderful colleague and friend, Emma Harrison, after a short but incredibly courageous battle with cancer.

Emma was so much more than her role as Deputy Headteacher — she was at the heart of our school community. Her compassion, integrity, and unwavering dedication to our students made her a true inspiration to everyone who worked with her. Those of us who had the privilege of serving alongside her on the leadership team will never forget her wisdom, her humour, and her strength.

This year, I’m running the London Marathon in memory of Emma, to honour her life and raise funds for the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, whose work makes a real difference for patients and families facing cancer across our region.

Emma faced her illness with courage and grace, and I hope this challenge can help continue her legacy of kindness and care.

Please consider donating — every contribution, big or small, will go towards supporting vital cancer treatment and research, and keeping Emma’s spirit alive through helping others.

Thank you for your support. 💜

Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for patients and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. The Centre makes over 220,000 patient contacts to over 30,000 patients a year, offering pioneering chemotherapy, radiotherapy and proton therapy treatments from eighteen operating sites across Merseyside and Cheshire, and including the Isle of Man

By choosing to support our Charity, you will help us to improve patient experience, fund vital research, the latest therapies and innovations in cancer treatment.

We are so often told that The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is unlike any other hospital. We pride ourselves on providing an environment in which patients receive the best possible experience, with the special touches that mean so much.

It is so important to us that we can do this for our patients, at our centres in Liverpool, Wirral and Aintree along with our network of chemotherapy clinics in hospitals across the region.
