On Sunday 25th August the 4th Annual Memorial Cricket Match will take place at Slingsby Sports Club in aid of my late father-in-law, and former Sports Club Chairman, Dave Calvert.

Dave was an incredible man that contributed so much to his local community over the course of his lifetime and had a huge passion for cricket, both playing and then later umpiring.

As well as his years of involvement in cricket and being a founder member of Slingsby Sports Club committee, he was also the Chairman of Slingsby Village Hall for over 50 years.

Living in a rural community Dave appreciated the life saving work that is done by The Yorkshire Air Ambulance and each year we hold a cricket match in his memory to raise money for this incredible cause. We are aiming to raise £500.

The Annual Cricket match has a Dave Calvert XI made up of former Slingsby Cricket Club players taking on the current Slingsby Cricket Club XI.
