APL CCC 2025 - The Sigsy Memorial Ride · 10 May 2025

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting our APL CCC 2025 - The Sigsy Memorial Ride page.

Sigsy was a rider with our team for many years, helping us raise £1000's for charity. His last APL outing was this time last year, May 2024, as sadly, he died in September.

In his honour, we're repeating last years C2C, Whitehaven to Tynemouth, 135 miles over two days, stopping off at Alston for a jolly good dinner and beers, not necessarily in that order .... with the final evening, doon the Toon, and more beers and a curry!

Nothing new there then ....

This final ride is for him, Jayne, George and Sofia.

You'll not be forgotten mate!

..... and we're raising money for the British Heart Foundation, on behalf of the family, so we'd be grateful for your support.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives.

It's only thanks to support that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help us hit our target.

The team:

Anita, James, Barney, Dixey, Cochers, Mr Fawlty, Pads, Rhys, Findlay, Deano, Fenners, Lee, Geoff, Fairsy, Greec, Nige, Chris, Davers, Philip and Lud.

Thanks!

The APL CCC riders team.
