We Did It! 100 Miles for COAST in August

Throughout August, Oscar and I set ourselves a challenge: to walk 100 miles and raise funds for COAST (Community of Arran Seabed Trust).

We're delighted to say that we did it.

While reaching the 100-mile milestone feels great, the most rewarding part wasn't the distance itself. It was the time spent together. The challenge gave us a reason to slow down, get outdoors, talk (or grunt when it came to the final stretch up Goatfell), laugh, and simply enjoy valuable father-and-son time. Those shared miles created memories that will stay with us long after the challenge is finished.

The cause was equally important. The Firth of Clyde is a special place. On our crossing back to the mainland, we were even lucky enough to spot a Humpback Whale from the ferry. COAST's work to protect and restore the marine environment around Arran is helping to demonstrate what's possible when nature is given the chance to recover. Supporting that work felt like a meaningful way to give something back.

We want to say thank you to everyone who donated, shared the page, offered encouragement, or followed our progress during August. Your generosity has helped raise both funds and awareness for a cause that means a great deal to us.

Completing the challenge marks the end of our 100 miles, but COAST's work continues, and so will our walking together. Every contribution you made will help support their efforts to protect and restore the seas around Arran for future generations.
