As some of you will know, I was recently diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and I am currently going through my treatment. By running the London Marathon, I want to raise as much awareness of Prostate Cancer as I can, as I had none of the usual symptoms at all. After being diagnosed, I feel as though I have a duty to both raise awareness and tackle the disease head on.

After applying to Prostate Cancer for a spot in the London Marathon, the charity said that they normally look for some of the following in allocating their spaces:

1. Have you ran a marathon before?

2. Have you raised money for charity before?

3. Have you raised money for Prostate Cancer before?

4. Have you been affected by Prostate Cancer?

To be able to answer yes to all of them, and also tell them I currently have Prostate Cancer, that was the golden buzzer moment and they gave me a spot!

I would be most grateful for your support to help me in raising as much money as I can for this very worthwhile charity which is obviously very close to my own heart.
