Why a Fundraiser?......

We All have our own reasons and stories and I can only admire those that do the many extraordinary challenges for their own chosen Charities.

Mine is a mixture of both Thanks and also Guilt.

I had throughout my Diagnosis and treatment All the care and attention from those around me I could ever hope but often was reluctant to accept.

Reluctant as Cancer affects the lives as much of those doing the caring as those that have it, but None of Us choose it!

From those giving the bad news to those receiving it..it affects so many.

In some ways, I felt guilty for bringing this into their Day to Day lives and tried to keep it at a distance...causing them more hurt and frustration.

The fact We All at times need support ...Maggies offer this in many ways ...a Drop-In center for a brief chit chat ...expert advice on so many things that could give us worries....But also a Haven of respite from what can often be a tough day..for All.

In my own small part, I can help.... with your support.... by crafting a few bits and bobs which may brighten your days...and possibly in turn help others get through the days when they too need a comfy chair to sit and chat ..Cup of tea or cake bake ...or an understanding ear to talk into.

Update on the day...

Ok...what a day....your support ..totally amazabubbles....current total from today and some amazing efforts especially from a young lad called Domonic who unknown to me single-handedly raised £250.00 by swimming 1000mtrs...at just 10 yrs old...has given a fund boost of ....£1475.00.......truly awesome...to you all a heartfelt thankyou.....to all those behind the scene who helped with cakes, setting up and material supplies ..I couldn't have got anywhere near this...most importantly to my wife Julie....who can now get her living room back....
