Story
I'm taking steps for better heart health in Sussex...
In July 2023 I had a heart attack followed by a stent and double bypass. It was a massive shock to me as I thought I was in good health (I was playing Cricket when it happened). Without the support I've had in throughout my recovery from this fantastic charity I don't think I would be where I am today. Brilliant, wonderful people from Carciac Nurses, Specialist rehab physios and volunteers who were there for me when I was at my lowest and ready to quit, kept me going. People who have helped get me to a place where I'm able to enjoy life and exercise without the fear of it all happening again.
I am undertaking this walk as my first challenge to really regaining my confidence in my body and although to some it may only be 5 miles to me it's the road to recovery which I walk everyday. I cannot thank The Sussex Heart Charity enough for the second chance its given me and I will remember all the people who have gotten me where I am today and wanted to give something back to this amazing charity.
