Story

Hello and thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

In July 2025, Jim, Helena, Paul, Steve, and Holly will take on an exciting challenge—a relay crossing of the English Channel. As members of Eastbourne Sea Swimmers, we regularly enjoy sea swimming and have decided to challenge ourselves by undertaking an English Channel relay this summer. We have chosen the name “Eastbourne Cross Channel Chasers” as it reflects the experience of often having to “chase” the French coastline when the currents change near the end of the crossing.

We are fundraising in support of our local RNLI station in Eastbourne—the charity dedicated to saving lives at sea. As sea swimmers, we are profoundly grateful for the quick, expert assistance the RNLI offers to anyone who encounters trouble in the water.

Eastbourne Lifeboat Station is staffed entirely by volunteers who provide a 24-hour search and rescue service. Their crucial work relies on the support of our local community. Your contribution will help sustain these lifesaving services and, ultimately, save lives.

Thank you for supporting us in this challenge!

Please feel free to share our page with anyone who might be interested in donating to this worthy cause.
