Story
I’m Running The Great North Run this September in Memory of Billy. My Wife’s little boy who lost his battle to Mitochondrial Disease at the age of 5months.
No one should suffer this cruel disease nor should families lose there children knowing that there is nothing to save them.
That means there is no cure of yet, without the Lily Foundation she would have never of had the support from the families who have been in her position. Striving to one day find a cure so no other child will lose there life
One day we will find a cure
Thank you for donating every little will make a difference xx
The Great North Run is an iconic running event. Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne the route takes runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne, across the iconic Tyne Bridge continuing through Gateshead and South Shields.
Did you know every other day in the UK a baby is born who will develop mitochondrial disease?
I will be running for them and the 10 million people in the UK who suffer from diseases in which mitochondrial dysfunction is believed to be involved. This disease is debilitating, there is no cure and lives are cut far too short.
The Lily Foundation's aim is to one day find a cure for mito. As the UK's leading charity dedicated to fighting mitochondrial disease, our mission is to support people whose lives are affected by the condition, raise awareness and fund research into its prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
Please support me and together we will make a difference.
