Story

I’m taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 11th October 2026 as part of Team Autism, raising money for the National Autistic Society (NAS), the UK’s largest autism charity.

This cause is personal to me and I have been inspired by my daughter who is autistic and has shown incredible strength in advocating for herself at school and the various clubs she attends. NAS plays a vital role in empowering young people like my daughter to find their place in the world and thrive. It also helps parents on how to best support autistic children and understand how their children experience the world and the challenges they face.

NAS does incredibly important work supporting autistic people and their families, from providing information and guidance to campaigning for better understanding and support.

I’m taking the challenge seriously and training hard with the aim of setting a personal best, which means putting in the miles, pushing myself in training and hopefully seeing the work pay off on race day!

The race itself is a fantastic 13.1-mile route through four of London’s Royal Parks Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens — on closed roads and past some of London’s most recognisable landmarks. Every mile will have a bit more meaning knowing that I’m running to support a cause that has had a real impact on our family.

I’m aiming to raise £350 for the National Autistic Society, helping them support autistic people and their families across the UK through vital services, advice, advocacy and community support.

If you’re able to donate, however much you can give would mean a lot to me and my family. And if you can’t donate, sharing my fundraising page would be hugely appreciated too.

Thank you for supporting me, and more importantly, supporting a cause that means so much to us.
