Alzheimer’s Dementia Uk raise funds and awareness to help and support patients with Alzheimer’s or Dementia across the UK

Story

Those who know me will know the difficult journey my mum faced — what began with ketoacidosis soon led to dementia, and over the following months I watched the strongest, kindest woman I knew slowly fade away. She passed in February 2024, and while she is no longer here, her memory and the love she gave live on.

My mum dedicated her life to helping others — through her church, through her kindness, and through her endless compassion for those less fortunate. Now, I want to honour her by helping others who are battling this cruel disease, and by supporting the families who stand beside them.

That’s why I’ve chosen to run the New York City Marathon. It was the marathon my mum was most proud of me for completing back in 2018 — my very first of many marathons. Running it again now, in her memory, feels like the perfect way to celebrate her life and spirit.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly to Alzheimer’s Dementia UK to fund vital support and research. Please give what you can, and together let’s make a difference so fewer families have to endure the heartbreak we did.
