Story
This summer, I along with my family, are raising money for the Polycystic Kidney Disease UK. We will be undertaking a 30KM section of the Cotswold way Ultra Challenge, in one day. PKD has affected many in our family and my Sister Anne is facing this right now.
This is her story:
'I’ve been diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease for over 25 years, in the last 6 months my kidneys have failed to the extent that I’m now on dialysis, and I’m on the transplant list, but there is no certainty that that will happen! PKD makes me very tired, it restricts what I can eat and what I can do, but I’m determined to push myself on this challenge, to walk 30km in a day, to support the PKD Charity, that has supported me, and many others like me.'
PKD Charity is a UK-based organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and their families affected by Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). As a charity we play a vital role in supporting and advocating for the 70,000 people in the UK who suffer with the incurable disease.PKD Charity is a UK-based organization dedicated to supporting individuals and their families affected by Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).
