Story

Hi Everyone,

I'm running the Brighton Marathon on the 6th of April 2025, to raise funds for my wife Linsey's wonderful charity LATNEM.

Some of you will know that my wife had a severe depressive episode after the birth of our son and spent a few months with our baby, Jack, in a specialist Mother and Baby Mental Health Unit down in Livingston.

The support in our area was extremely limited and after recovering, Linsey co-founded a Maternal Mental Health Charity called LATNEM, who now support mums and birthing people with their mental health (Scotland-wide!!). In the UK, suicide accounts for 34% of maternal deaths between 6 weeks and 12 months after the end of pregnancy, and the rates of maternal mortality from suicide continues to increase. Everything that Linsey and the LATNEM team do, is to prevent maternal suicide – they currently have 326 mums accessing their support and the funding environment is increasingly challenging, so please pop a donation my way!

I hadn't been on a run in a few years, before I started training for this marathon at the end of June and I'm aiming for a time under 4 hours - in my one and only marathon!

I'm extremely proud of Linsey every day and hoping I can do a little something to help LATNEM, through running this marathon.
