Story
I am raising money for The Ewings Sarcoma Trust which is part of The Bone Cancer Research Trust.
I am doing this to support my friend, Jim King, whose son Ethan recently passed away, just before his 16th birthday, after a long battle with Ewing's Sarcoma, a very rare type of bone cancer that mainly affects young people.
Very little funding is allocated to this very rare disease and I want to do all I can to contrbute to research into finding a cure.
So, I will be running the London Marathon with Jim who is also running for The Ewings Sarcoma Trust and gunning for a PB in Ethan's memory.
The Bone Cancer Trust is dedicated to saving lives & improving outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer. Despite being small, they fund more research projects exploring primary bone cancer than any other organisation. Other large UK cancer research charities do not prioritise bone cancer patients, in 2019 just 0.028% of their research spend went to bone cancer – not even close to 1%!
Last year alone, Bone Cancer Research Trust committed an incredible £807,824 to pioneering bone cancer research - to save lives!
