Story

THANK YOU EVERYONE for your donations so far. It means so much to us that you have given overwhelming support to our cause to help Thames Hospice. We completed our Sunflower event on Sunday 8th September. Click on the Gallery link above for photos of our walk and Diane Thompson's half marathon run. This page is still open for further donations up to 25 January 2025.

All 15 members of the Thompson family took part in the Thames Hospice Sunflower Walk in loving memory of much missed Bernadette - Wife, Mum and Nana - who received complementary therapy and in-patient care from Thames Hospice in 2021-22.

Some of our most treasured family memories happened at the Hospice:

Bernadette’s daughter Helen says, "We were able to have quality time together as a family with the peace of mind of knowing that Mum was so well looked after 24 hours a day. Every one of us was offered individual support and Mum's grandchildren still love coming here. My daughter Sophie now wants to work at the Hospice. She wants to help people like Thames Hospice helped her Nana.

“Sophie painted a wonderful picture to thank the Hospice staff for looking after her Nana which is now pride of place in the Visitors Room at the Hospice, in memory of Bernadette.”

Helen’s sister Lucy adds, “Mum really wanted to be at Annie’s christening and Thames Hospice staff did everything they could on the day to make her feel amazing and special. She looked the best she had in months and it was so nice that the family could all be together.

Please support us in helping to raise funds to ensure that Thames Hospice can continue to provide compassionate care to those in the local community who need it now and in the future.
