“First Ever Blind Women's T20 Cricket World Cup”

on 10 November 2025

We organise & manage blind/visually impaired cricket in the UK. Our sport is open to men & women of any age. Such provision is life changing for some of our participants as with unemployment amongst visually impaired people at 75% many visually impaired people can find themselves quite isolated.

Story

The first men's blind cricket world cup took place in 1998; this is the first women's event and is hosted by India.

The first ever international blind cricket for women saw a UK side visit Nepal in 2014; and the first multi-team competition was at the World Blind Games in Birmingham in 2023.

It would be brilliant to have a UK team at the first T20 world cup alongside the other expected teams - India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia and the USA.

We have had a generous donation of £30,000 towards the overall cost and now need to raise the rest with your help. The photo, from the Nepal blind cricket website, shows the UK and Nepal teams from the 2014 tour which was organised in the UK by the Change Foundation.
