Mac My Day is a Family & Friends Fund supporting Duchenne UK

Story

Evening all! It’s been a while 🤣

Myself and Lisa come cap in hand for any kind gestures you may be willing to share and/or just your support in helping raising money for a cause that means a lot to us!

One of our dear friends Rebecca has an awesome, full of life, smiling young man called Mac, who in 2022 was diagnosed with Deuchenne Muscular Dyatrophy. Having met Mac and been in his company, we can vouch that he is larger than life and an amazing kid!

In a nutshell, this means that an error in Macs genetic code means the body is unable to produce dystrophin, a vital protein in muscle health and repair. Without it, the muscles degenerate and most boys need to use a wheelchair by their early-mid teens. It later goes on to affect their heart and lungs and this reduces their life expectancy.

Mac my Day has been set-up with the goal of helping the Duchenne community find a cure sooner rather than later and ensuring that all Duchenne boys can realise their dreams too and experience as much as they can whilst the search for a cure continues!

We certainly can’t imagine having those conversations about one of our children so we would like to try and help however we can. What if the money we can help raise is the last bit of money needed….🙏🏻

We will be doing 300km each in 6 weeks. This can be walking, swimming, cycling or running. 🏃 🏊 🚴 This is one we can do together and with others! We’re sure all of our friends, family and football family will be there to help on those kilometres!

*WE START TOMORROW MONDAY 8TH APRIL 2024* 🙏🏻

Please take a look at the full story of Deuchenne UKs work and also Macs story! Please help where you can, you know I’m relentless 😬😬 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
